This week my painting classes resumed and I realized once again how lucky I am to do what I do and be able to share it with others. I have watched my student artists grow and flourish as artists on their own terms. They are all talented and they all are very different with a unique style and vision of their own. Some are more advanced than others, but we all bond together in our efforts to improve ...and improve we do, week by week, session after session, and year after year. We certainly don't do it for monetary gain (there are many easier ways to make money), but there is nothing more satisfying to us than to express ourselves with art and to share it with others.

Artists are more often than not lone wolves. Although creative pursuits often require artists to work alone in their studios, guest rooms, kitchen tables, porches or basements, that does not mean we are lonely. When we come together there is an energy generated that that is palpable and inspiring. We talk, we laugh, we drink, and most of all, we paint. 

Then we lone wolves go back to our solitary pursuits until the pack forms again. We're not dangerous but we are BOLD.
