Holy Hill

This landmark located in southeastern Wisconsin is known as Holy Hill Basilica. The national shrine is situated on the highest elevation in that part of the state. I have painted this subject many times and I hope to paint it many more. The church looks like a fairy tale castle when seen from a distance against the sky and it is a special place to me personally. My father used to drive our family there every autumn to see the fall colors. When he became too old to drive I took him for scenic drives to Holy Hill until he passed away at ninety-seven years old.
