Tom’s Thoughts on
Teaching
I find teaching
both challenging and rewarding to share my experiences as an artist with
others that share a love of art and want to improve their skills.
Teaching forces me to think about how I create paintings and to examine
my own working processes.
When a
student/artist has a breakthrough or masters a new technique, I get to
share in their enthusiasm!
I realize that all
artists, regardless of their training, are primarily self-taught, and
that I can only share an idea or two to make their journey a bit quicker
and easier. Teaching has been as rewarding for me as I hope it has been
for all my student/artists.
